"Las Reinas" By Brooklynne Walker
"Las Reinas" By Brooklynne Walker
12” x 18” | Acrylic on Watercolor | 2020
Art Description
The medium I used for this piece was paint. I wanted to show the struggles Cuban women surpassed through the years. I chose Cuba because I’m part Cuban but I’ve never really been able to experience the culture.
Art + Activism
Through my painting I wanted to show despite all the trials woman have faced over the decades there are amazing accomplishments. I wanted to try to convey those accomplishments through my panting. The words in my painting “Las Reinas tambien necesitas descarnsar” mean “Queens also need rest” Women are Queens.
